Shape Animations

This is me getting my bearings with Adobe After Effects. As everyone does, I began by animating a ball. At the time, I was already familiar with the animation controls provided, as I had experieced a similar control set in an old video editing software called Camtasia.

"Machine" Project

Despite the name, my goal for this project was to apply the animation controls to something other than a basic shape. This project also utilized a fair bit of photoshop for breaking up the body parts and environment.

Masking Project

This project had me making as many odd effects as I could think of with the built-in masking tools. There was a fair bit of rotoscoping involved to get things to look cleanly cut out of the video. I also did the subtitling myself.

The clip used is from the Safety Third YouTube channel.

Typography Project

This project came out more simple than the rest, but it did take a while to draw all the environments with a mouse and keyboard. I wanted the typography to fit into the compositions. All the audio was mixed in After Effects, which allowed me to play with the filters to make the noises sound more authentically inside the train, or from far away.

My vision for this was the opening to a hypothetical Wes Anderson movie staring Nick Cage.
